  • Do you need a doctor’s consultation request to pass a radiography (x-ray)?
    Yes, a consultation request from your family doctor or a specialist is needed.
    We accept requests destined to other radiology clinics.
  • Why do I have to pay for some exams?
    In a private clinic, the cost of an ultrasound exam, of an axial tomography, of a virtual coloscopy, of a magnetic resonance and of a PET (positron emission tomography) is not covered by the RAMQ but are covered by most private insurances.
  • Why do I need a consultation request if I pay for the portion not covered by the RAMQ?
    According to a law from the Public Health Dept., all work done in a medical service or clinic must be done with a consultation request signed by a health professional.

  • Do I need an appointment?
    The general radiology exams are done without appointment during the business hours of the clinic.

    For the specialized exams of radiology, bone density, mammography, ultrasound, scan, virtual coloscopy, magnetic resonance or PET (positron emission tomography), it is necessary to make an appointment.

  • Do I need some kind of preparation for the radiography?
    No preparation is necessary for a simple radiography.

    A preparation is necessary for the exams of the digestive track and ultrasounds of the abdominal and pelvic region. For the scans and the resonances, the adequate preparation will be indicated to you when you take your appointment.
  • I am claustrophobic: can I still pass a scan or a magnetic resonance?
    Most people who are claustrophobic to a degree succeed in passing their scan or their magnetic resonance with success. The inside of our apparatuses are spacious enough to accommodate patients weighing up to 400 pounds.

    Our experienced technologists stay with you during the whole exam to reassure you. An alarm button, in case of emergency is available to you at all times. To help you relax, you can bring a CD of your favorite music. If necessary, a mild sedation is administered; plan for someone to bring you back home.
  • Do I have to bring results of previous exams?
    All the reports, x-rays and images of previous exams related to your upcoming exam are very useful to us to evaluate your condition.
  • When will my doctor have the results?
    As a general rule, the written report with the results of your exams is sent to your doctor by FAX within 24 or 48 business hours. In many cases, a preliminary report can be faxed to your doctor on the same day as the exam.
  • Can you send me a copy of the results?
    Copies of the exam are available upon request.

  • Is a parking space easy to find?
    A parking lot is available around the building at the cost of . for 4 hours.
